About the Treatment
OptiLight IPL Therapy is the only FDA-approved light-based treatment designed to address inflammation associated with dry eye disease at its source. Using precise pulses of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) applied along the eyelids and surrounding skin, OptiLight reduces inflammatory factors and improves the function of the meibomian glands.
By restoring healthier oil flow into the tear film, this treatment supports improved tear stability, greater eye comfort, and long-term relief of dry eye symptoms.
What to Expect
During treatment, protective eye shields are placed, and a cooling gel is applied to the skin around the eyes. A handheld device delivers gentle pulses of light along the lower eyelids and upper cheek area. Patients typically feel brief warmth or a light snapping sensation.
Sessions usually last about 15-20 minutes. A series of treatments is recommended to achieve optimal gland function and symptom relief.
